The Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Programs’ (OYAP) support of Skills Canada – Ontario is based on the firm belief that the Ontario Technological Skills Competition (OTSC) and the Skills Canada National Competition represent one of the best ways to raise the profile of the skilled trades and technologies in our secondary schools. Students competing at a level demanded by industry validates and supports the technological studies curriculum offered in our 3 high schools. Participation by our elementary schools is viewed as building capacity for skilled trades and technology in our high schools.
There are over 150 skilled trades that involve apprenticeship training.
