Water well drillers construct and maintain water wells. This work also includes locating water sources, protecting ground water, maintaining drilling equipment, disinfecting completed wells, and installing or servicing pumps. It is outdoor work with a lot of travel between jobs. Drillers must be skilled at writing reports, following safety procedures, and consulting with customers to provide cost estimates for drilling new wells or restoring old ones.
