Pump systems installers work with different types of outdoor pipes and pump systems. This work includes repairs, maintenance, and adjustments. They must be skilled at reading blueprints and diagrams, using hoisting devices to install pump systems, and cleaning and lubricating machinery.

• The Pump Systems Installer apprenticeship consists of 4,000 hours of on-the-job training.
• Apprentices must complete two 6-week in-class technical training sessions.
• Once you have successfully completed the apprenticeship requirements, you receive a Certificate of Apprenticeship and are certified as a journeyperson in the trade.
• A person with at least 4,000 hours of related work experience is eligible to apply for a Trade Equivalency Assessment (TEA) and, if successful, becomes certified as a journeyperson in this trade.

Grade 12 or equivalent.
